Holiday Party Outfits

It’s finally holiday dress season! I am so excited to finally wear some of the dresses I have wanted to wear for the past year. With the number of celebrations coming up during this festive season, it’s an exciting time to get dressed up and celebrate with our loved ones! Whether your celebration calls for a formal or semi-formal dress code, here are some holiday outfit ideas styles for your inspiration.

Sparkling Silver

What’s a holiday celebration without some sparkle? Although I favor gold, sometimes I find certain silver pieces that make me wonder why I don’t wear silver as often. This House of CB dress (similar) is one of those pieces. I wanted to wear this for new years eve last year, but I ended up in my PJs at home, watching movies with my parents last year. Although I loved every minute of it, I hope things are different this year.

Vibrant Sequins

Try a bold, vibrant color for an updated look to the black sequin. Sequin is a statement by itself, but color can be an added layer. I appreciate how jewel tones translate well in sequin, so I went with emerald green (similar). You can also pair a sequin top with some jeans for a simpler look. It would work great for a smart casual and/or semi-formal event.

Silk

This is my fabric of choice for more formal black-tie events. If you’re going full out for an event, you might as well make a statement. I favor dresses that are backless or have back detailing. I feel like it’s a good way to look elegant and sophisticated while showing some skin. I bought this dress (similar) a while ago for an event, I had planned on having the train shortened, but I’m glad I let it be because it was the perfect dress for my recent trip to the Palace of Versailles.

Festive Glamour

Pulling off a busy dress is no easy task. Although this dress is a mix of vibrant sequin, floral print, and faux feathers, it works well together. I bought this dress(similar) because it felt like a modern version of a 1920s glamour dress. I wore it to a dinner in Paris, and it was a good way to kick off the holiday season. I kept my hair in my favorite braids and paired it with my favorite Amina Muaddi shoes to keep it minimal.

Classic Velvet

Velvet is a holiday staple so couldn’t go without it for the season. The dress i’m wearing is actually my Moms dress from back in the day(similar). She was generous enough to let me have it after begging and pleading my case for months. It was initially an off the shoulder dress but I had it turned it into a backless sweetheart dress for a more modern feel. We took the pictures on a late night night in Paris and it captured the essence of dress so well.
